YARD WORKER or FARM WORKER

Motivated and hardworking yard assistant wanted for a busy and progressive kit-set building producer.

Our client Alpine Buildings NZ Ltd supplies kit-set sheds and farm buildings to customers across New Zealand. They need a new team member to work in their yard and dispatch area. To succeed in this role, you will have a strong work ethic, enthusiasm to learn, and the ability to work as part of a collaborative and supportive team. Duties will include unloading trucks, stacking timber, using saws to cut timber to length, picking and packing orders, roll forming, and loading orders for dispatch. A significant part of the role is to select and grade timber and poles. Full training will be given to the successful applicant, so don’t worry if you don’t have experience in all these things right now!

Other key factors making you a strong candidate include:

  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to ‘getting it right, every time’
  • OSH forklift licence, F endorsement, and practical forklift operating experience (ideal, but not essential)
  • Adaptable nature, and willingness to pitch in and help the team
  • Commitment to accuracy and the delivery of excellent service
  • Good numerical, reading, and writing skills
  • Physically fit and capable of performing lifting/labouring
  • Computer literate, able to learn a new system and use it for entering data as well as keeping records and following order dockets
  • Proactive attitude towards workplace health and safety
