Responsibilities of Vendor Management Specialist Job
- Coordinating internal stakeholders with external partners across the group for these key vendor engagements.
- Provide ongoing advice and guidance to businesses on operational and tactical vendor management.
- Display assertiveness and sound influencing skills in challenging businesses on identified material risks.
- Facilitate problem resolution (where needed) and ensure operational and tactical supplier relationships are protected in line with contractual agreements.
- Understand and enable the design standards, protocols, and parameters for vendor and contract management.
- Partner with businesses to maintain ongoing awareness of their engagements with vendors.
- Advise and support ongoing vendor delivery with business in line with agreed expectations.
- Collaborate effectively with risk and compliance on vendor impacts, and help businesses drive these requirements that impact a vendor partner.
Requirements
- Have a degree, (B Com, B Com Hons, BSc, BSc Hons, BSc Engineering, Supply Chain Degree).
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in a Vendor management and/or procurement role in a similar-sized organization.
- Have 2-3 years of experience in ICT.
- Ideally CIPS certification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable concepts and methodologies around vendor management.
- Extensive working experience in Vendor Management, relationship management, and related functions within the banking industry is preferred.
- Understanding of governance structures and frameworks used to manage vendor management programs and vendor risk mitigation and oversight.
- Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and provide recommendations when required.
- Advanced analytical skills to resolve complex issues/problems within the vendor management area.
- Excellent Business acumen.
