X Fruit is a family owned and operated fruit growing company, with a diverse range of crops from summerfruit to pipfruit spread over the sunny Hawkes Bay district. We are passionate about growing premium quality fruit for the local and export markets.

We got 30 orchards around Hastings and Napier area. We got two class 5 trucks to transport our fruit and other stuff. We are currently seeking two reliable Truck Drivers to join our company. The position is permanent and full-time with a minimum of 30 hours per week. You should be available to work during weekends. You must have a clean class 5 NZ License or overseas equivalent.

About you:

  • Class 5 Drivers license or equivalent overseas license required with 1 years experience.
  • An interest or passion for Horticulture and plants or previous experience in this environment.
  • A forklift license would be advantageous, but training will be provided if you don’t have it.
  • Must be capable of physical labor and general loading unloading duties.
  • Reliability and Punctuality is a Must!
  • Has the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Great time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and have a clean driving record
  • Must be able to start early around 5 am and somedays finish at 7 pm depending upon fruit picking and also must available on weekends
  • Must be capable of using Company IPAD/Laptop

Your main job duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Driving a class 5 truck safely and efficiently, transport fruit bins from different orchards to packhouse.
  • Transport packed fruit to dedicated cool stores.
  • Transport juice bins to juice company after picking season.
  • Work with packhouse manager to distribute empty bins to all orchards.
  • Transport orchard development stuff from different distributers to developing orchards.
  • If we got a quite time in winter, work in the orchard as orchard hand or as a machinery operator.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of the truck to identify mechanical issues and safety concerns, and perform necessary preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Accurately record and log work and rest periods.
  • Strictly adhere to truck driving rules and regulations, including those pertaining to size, weight, designated routes, parking and required break periods, in addition to following company policies and procedures.
  • Promptly report and defects, accidents, or violations encountered during transportation or operation.

We offer competitive remuneration, and the successful candidate will also receive a company phone as well.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
