Hurstbridge Farm Therapeutic Care Program is an innovative initiative designed to provide a specialised treatment approach in Victoria.
The program provides an intensive experience for young people who are experiencing the aftermath of abuse and neglect. The practice model uses the frameworks and techniques of Trauma and Attachment Theories.
The key role of therapeutic care staff is to provide daily care and implement the therapeutic treatment strategies via everyday interactions.
Hurstbridge Farm Therapeutic Care Program is designed to provide a specialised trauma informed approach in the North Division.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Operate and maintain the care household through a range of essential daily routines, maintaining the therapeutic intentionality and integrity of the practice model at all times. This will include: preparation of nutritionally balanced meals, all usual domestic duties and all activities developed for each client as part of their Individual Treatment Plan. The model requires that the clients are actively encouraged to be engaged in these processes with care staff. Engage with clients in a professional manner to assist them towards the development of pro-social, positive emotional development.
- Effectively communicate, manage challenging and confronting behaviours and utilise normal daily activities to assist each client in a way that promotes healing, emotional growth and the development of positive attitudes and life skills.
- Operate as an effective member of team – including willingness to share information, working cooperatively and openly with colleagues, being receptive to the ideas of others and being emotionally robust and respectfully honest.
