The Senior Dairy Farm Worker full time position will involve all day to day work and operation of the farm under supervision of the Dairy Farmer. The passion of the applicant will dictate where the majority of the work will lie.

It is preferred the applicant will have a minimum of a certificate III in agriculture; 3-5+years recent experience with an anticipated annualised salary if $80,000 – $100,000.00 – depending on experience.

The Senior Dairy Worker will be required to work in all aspects of milk production including assisting with the management and coordination of the feeding routine, monitor quality assurance procedures ensuring compliance through current and relevant documentation.

The Senior Dairy Worker responsibility will include supervising of the animal health programs under direction of the Dairy Farmer, ensuring optimal environments as outlined in the Australian Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines – cattle.

The Senior Dairy Farm Worker will be expected to implement feeding procedures including the ability to collect and arrange analysis of samples, and work with nutritionist to implement diets.

The Senior Dairy Worker will be responsible for developing livestock feeding plans including managing pastures and crops, and identifying and reporting equipment not operating normal and the maintenance of plant and machinery.

Skills and experience necessary include manage milking systems including milking, animal herd health and reproductive systems. Operate and maintain all farm machinery including the use of 2 wheel motorbike and trailing feed mixer.

Other skills and experience include animal health responsibilities including calving cows, administer colostrum, identifying and treating mastitis, sore eyes and general well-being of the herds. Also planning and managing pastures and crops, condition score the herd assessment as part of diet formulas.

The Senior Dairy Farm Worker must have experience with using computers and phone herd management program Herd Metrix and Fieldnet apps to support your role is essential.

For this full time position we expect the applicant would have 3-5+ years recent working experience. Formal qualifications preferred.

This position require the successful applicant to have a current driver’s license and reliable vehicle, good English including spoken, word and mathematical ability along with amiable personality with ability to work as part of a team and lead as necessary.
