Description
The Radcliff Veteran Center is a skilled nursing facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Veterans. Our mission is to Serve Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care.
The Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for caring for the residents of the Carl M. Brashear Radcliff Veterans Center.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Performs nursing duties under direction of a physician.
- Performs medical treatments and administers medications as prescribed.
- Collects assessment data and cares for our veterans within the scope of the RN clinical skills.
- Supervises other clinical staff in administering care to the residents and documents essential information.

Santa Clara Valley Medical Center – 731 bed tertiary level acute care hospital provides the highest level of adult and pediatric emergency medical and trauma services, a regional high risk Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, an ACS-verified Burn Trauma Center, a Primary Stroke Center, a CARF-accredited Rehabilitation Center, emergency and acute inpatient psychiatric services, as well as a range of other specialized services – in some cases the only such treatment in the region.

Typical Tasks
Assessment
- Obtains data for nursing assessment from patient and/or family;
- Learns to utilize assessment data to formulate nursing diagnosis;
- Observes patient behavior and documents in a clear, concise manner.
Planning - Identifies obvious patient care problems and established priorities for care based on nursing and medical diagnoses;
- Under direction initiates a patient care plan and collaborates with other staff members when appropriate; may suggest revisions to a patient care plan dependent upon the changing needs of the patient;

The Trauma Specialist is responsible for NLHD’s Level IV trauma system and maintaining the integrity of the designation and regulatory compliance. Working in tandem with the ED Emergency Department and ED Manager. The manager is responsible for the on-going development, updating, maintenance and coordination of the organizations’ trauma program and assist with emergency preparedness response.
- Ensuring compliance with accrediting agency standards and NIMS regulations.
- Staying current with emergency management regulations and standards, local, state and federal.
- Writing of AOD’s to state for additional funding.
- Planning and executing emergency and Trauma drill/exercises.
- Reviews, develops, and maintains the development or revision of the Nor-Lea’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP)
