Full job description

We are now looking for 1 full-time Meat Factory Process Workers to join our team, working in Canterbury factory.

permanent role, at least 30 hours per week, may work from Monday to Saturday. Additional working hours may apply according to the workload( 60 hours maximum). The hourly rate for this role is $26- $30 per hour.

Your duties for Meat Factory Process Workers :

  • Processes carcasses of slaughtered livestock and prepares meat and meat products.
  • processing offal and tripe
  • moving carcasses to chillers and freezers
  • loading meat products into trucks
  • packing boned and sliced meat into cartons
  • stunning and shackling poultry for killing and processing
  • severing jugular veins of poultry, and removing viscera and residual material from poultry carcasses
  • separating organs and glands, such as sweetbreads, livers, hearts and spleens, from poultry carcasses
  • inspecting and grading poultry, fish and shellfish for size and quality
  • packing fish and counting packs before freezing, and packing frozen fish blocks into cartons
  • operating machines which slice, peel, skin and crumb fish
  • cleaning and sanitising equipment and work areas
  • conduting any other tasks as required.

What We Expect from You as a Meat Factory Process Workers:

  • At least 3 years’ work experience in relevant industry.
  • No specific qualifications are required.
  • Flexibility to work late nights during busy seasons (regular hourly rates apply).
  • Being a good team player and a responsible individual.
  • The ability to work quickly and pay attention to detail.
  • Physical fitness for some heavy lifting.
  • A good understanding of health and safety regulations applicable to this industry.
  • Willingness to undergo drug tests prior to employment and potentially during employment, as we must ensure workplace safety and food safety.
  • Having your own transport, as there is no public transport to here.
