Responsibilities of Junior Actuarial Analyst Job

  • Set and cascade the Functional strategy with a supporting operating model and ensure resources are in place for its execution.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of operational activities.
  • Oversee the implementation of, and conformance to, Group Risk and Compliance requirements within the operating environment, in line with set risk appetite.
  • Actively promote and manage the collaborative engagement of internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, suppliers, clients, service providers, business partners, and other Absa entities.
  • Coach, mentor and manage team members toward driving business objectives and ensuring colleague development.
  • Ensure the fulfillment of all required governance activities, including tracking and reporting.

Requirements

  • Must have completed 4 Actuarial examinations.
  • Valuation experience is essential.
  • IFRS 17 working experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Partly or fully qualified actuary (making progress towards actuarial certification).
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, R, or Python.
  • Knowledge of actuarial modeling and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of financial markets and products.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Education

  • Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Physical, Mathematical, Computer, and Life Sciences (Required).
