Responsibilities of Junior Actuarial Analyst Job
- Set and cascade the Functional strategy with a supporting operating model and ensure resources are in place for its execution.
- Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of operational activities.
- Oversee the implementation of, and conformance to, Group Risk and Compliance requirements within the operating environment, in line with set risk appetite.
- Actively promote and manage the collaborative engagement of internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, suppliers, clients, service providers, business partners, and other Absa entities.
- Coach, mentor and manage team members toward driving business objectives and ensuring colleague development.
- Ensure the fulfillment of all required governance activities, including tracking and reporting.
Requirements
- Must have completed 4 Actuarial examinations.
- Valuation experience is essential.
- IFRS 17 working experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Partly or fully qualified actuary (making progress towards actuarial certification).
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, R, or Python.
- Knowledge of actuarial modeling and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Understanding of financial markets and products.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Education
- Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Physical, Mathematical, Computer, and Life Sciences (Required).
