Job Description

Rockit Management Services farm approx 350Ha of orchards split across four orchard sectors located between Omahu, Puketitiri, Clive, Havelock North, Bridge Pa and Raukawa. Our orchards contain a range of growing systems including FOPS, 2D, 2D conversions, with standard and intensive spindle.

We operate a modern fleet of cab and cab-less New Holland tractors, lineal tower and Quantum mist sprayers with auto rate controllers and a mixed fleet of Technofruit and Nblosi mobile platforms.

We currently have an Orchard Foreman opportunity within our Crown sectors which has orchard blocks located in Puketitiri and Omahu / Crownthorpe.

About the Role

A Foreman is a key hands-on role that sets the standard with supervising teams in the full range of orchard functions. 

Duties include:

• Onboarding, training and mentoring of new team members and contractors
• Overseeing efficient completion of daily orchard tasks
• Ensure quality standards are met
• Support and promote safe and healthy work practices and environment 
• Coordination of orchard tasks and efficient use of resources
• Cost tracking of daily orchards tasks

Skills and Experience Required

Applicants will ideally have:

• Experience in the pip fruit industry and sound knowledge of horticultural practices
• Experience in training teams and building a positive culture
• Grow Safe and Approved Handler certification
• Achieved or working towards a National Certificate in Horticulture
• A positive attitude with a hunger to learn and develop new skills
