Become a vital part of our dynamic team at the cutting-edge hatchery in Australia, where we specialize in hatching adorable baby chicks!

  • No prior experience needed – we offer comprehensive training
  • Enjoy permanent full-time positions starting at $27.22 per hour
  • Work 4 x 9.5-hour days, with starts times of 5:30am. You’ll be done in the early afternoon and get to enjoy three days off each week! There may be opportunities for additional hours beyond the regular schedule. Weekend work may be required.
  • Physical fitness & a willingness to do hard work is a must

About the Position:

Darwalla is on the lookout for motivated team members to join our state-of-the-art chicken Hatchery in Allora, conveniently situated between Toowoomba and Warwick.


Successful candidates will engage in various tasks, including egg setting and transfer, chick take-off and processing, and various cleaning duties. The role demands physical strength, fitness, and good health. You’ll need to undergo a health check before getting a job offer to make sure you can handle the job requirements.


Bio-Security and Standards:

Due to strict biosecurity and animal welfare standards in the poultry industry, so all employees are restricted from keeping pet birds, poultry and pigs and residing with others who work at other poultry or involved with pig farming/hunting. The Hatchery follows a shower-in, shower-out protocol.


Skills & Qualities:

Prospective candidates must possess the following attributes:

  • Compliance with bio-security requirements
  • Hardworking and reliable
  • Physically fit with the ability to stand all day
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented
  • Tolerance for working in a dusty and noisy poultry environment (safety equipment provided)
  • Willingness and ability to work safely
  • Good communication skills with a clear understanding of English, both written and oral
  • Previous experience in factory, production, or farming is advantageous, but all necessary training will be provided.
